Jenny Hettne is a composer of acoustic and electroacoustic music, with the exploration of sound and timbre as her most important focus. Her acoustic music is very much influenced by electroacoustic music and vice versa. She lives in Stockholm. Jenny was born 1977 in Göteborg. She finished her master degree in music composition at the Academy of Music and Drama, Göteborg University, in 2008. Studies also include Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, Berlin (2007), Gotland School of Music Composition (2000-02) and musiciology at University of Göteborg (1998-99) Jennys music has been performed by, among others, Gotland Woodwind Quintet, Sonanza, Musica Vitae, Chamber Ensemble New Music in Ukraine, Duo Harpverk, Norrbotten Neo and The Peärls Before Swïne Experience. "Backdrifting" was performed by the Icelandic ensemble Caput at the Young Nordic Music festival i Reykjavik in september 2007. The piece was first performed by Ensemble Gageego in Göteborg in february 2006 . Swedish National Academy Orchestra performed her first orchestra piece "Reed, motion" in february 2009. Jennys close collaboration with the oboists Dimas Ruiz Santos and Magdalena Fronzcak resulted in "Reed, chanting" for oboe and tape, and performances in Sweden and Spain. Jenny is currently working on a piece for violin and tape that will be premiered by Karin Hellqvist during the summer coarse in Darmstadt this summer. |
